It’s an old favourite of our families. The Hong Kong café style restaurant serving up both traditional Chinese cuisine as well as fusion type dishes with western style. They always have lots of specials on both western style and Chinese. Service is notably excellent, with immediate service when you sit down serving hot tea and then taking your order right away and quick turnaround for meal delivery. The menu is the length of your arm and it’s amazing that the kitchen staff can make everything hot and fresh to order on the spot. Our go to favourites include baked spaghetti, wonton udon noodle soup, barbeque duck and rice, and hianese chicken rice. Considering it’s Hong Kong café style, the prices are a little high. However, you do get an ample amount of food per serving. We will continue to come here again. Great for families and kids.
Came here with my Fiancee, we were greeted by a rude waitress that threw the menus onto the tables once we sat down. We ordered some basic dishes, fish with corn sauce, some fried beansprouts; all of them were served cold with incredibly bland flavor. Asked the rude waitress and was replied, "Oh that is how we cook it"-- then gave my wife a dirty stare and then walked away, didn't catch her name but she has a short haircut, wears thick rimmed glasses, short and chubby. Bill came, I mentioned about the food not tasting good, waitress interrupted me saying I didn't tip her enough and scolded me in front of the whole restaurant. She ran to her manager pointing fingers at me for not tipping her to the amount she wanted. NEVER coming back here again.
Food is good. Late-night menu offers better value. Service is generally good
This reminds you of the restaurants in Hong Kong before the turnover. Congee and fried noodles for breakfast. Good food, a little bit pricey but well worth it for the quality. A better traditional Chinese breakfast than I've found in Richmond
This place has been in the same spot forever it seems, and for good reason. It's one of the few HK style restaurants left in Vancouver, so it usually busy.
Foods are still nice ~ good service... but became small amount ...
An amazing array of food offered and displayed in multiple menus (which was confusing). Took us a long time to decide and we wondered how one restaurant could provide such a diverse, expansive menu. Once we decided, the food was served quickly and was delicious. There was a lot of sharing going on. Three orders between four diners was $74. Still, lots of leftovers go-to. The service was OK, may have been better if we spoke the language but overall a good experience. In a nice neighbourhood with lots of other dining options nearby: the Gloucester is a good choice with upper mid-range prices in nice, comfortable surroundings.
Food is good. But portion is small and expensive compared to other Chinese restaurant. Guess you don’t really have options near Cambie village.
My fav place for breakfast where I can get my noodle soup while my kid can have the thick french toast. Solid HK style food with some interesting western dishes.
Great portion. Great service
The vermicelli inside the laksa soup was hard, dry and stale. The bacon inside the Club sandwich was also dry and stale. The waiter and waitress didn't offer any additional drink options for the two meals just tea. I put a tip amount on the machine by accident, ie. I pressed enter too quickly. And the waitress yelled at me so loudly that it wasn't enough. Treated me like a criminal who disn't pay for the meal. It was so embarrassing and this restaurant is not professional. Additionally the price for those two items for me was $33. For my friend with his chicken salad was $20. Overpriced, and they wanted a large tip on top too? Sorry but that is quite inreasonable. I don't recommend this place because it is not good food, not good price, and not good service.
Standard HK style cafe food. Price is slightly above average. Opens late, so that is convenient. Tried their 3 kinds of meat ramen noodles (sausage, deep fried chicken wings, spam!) -- a good value dish, with lots of meat! I enjoyed their Thai style fried rice with an egg on top. Their other fried rice dishes were fairly solid, including their diced chicken and salted fish fried rice, and beef and lettuce fried rice. They take VISA but only if the bill is > $15. This place is good for large crowds.
Atmosphere is clean, nice Honk Kong style dishes, ordered the chicken and fish fillet, $23 includes do, drink and dessert. Recommend the Hong Kong style milk tea.
Bone in sandwich. That’s a first. How disappointing!!! When we told the server, they said they were “experimenting” with the bone in to save on time spent cutting the bone out. Had my father actually taken a bite into the sandwich without knowing the bone was there, there would have been some words said. Hopefully the issue is or will be fixed to avoid any possibility of a customer’s chipped or cracked or lost tooth.
We met with friends at this place for a meeting. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. The staff members were very polite and we felt fantastic. The meal was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed every moment and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Keep it up.
A very popular Chinese restaurant on Cambie. Very popular so expect to have a crowd.
Came here for the first time in a looooong time. The food was really delicious and the service was great. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hk style "borche" soup is highly recommended. The thai chicken fried rice is also great. Our entire table of 15 people all enjoyed the meal.Parking on the main road can be a little difficult to find but the residential area behind usually has spots.
ShawOpen wifi available Lots of seating available Happy with my laksa dish, good value for priceThe beef brisket chow mein was lacking in flavourI’d still come back
An authentic HK style cafe! I would give 5 stars to their food (very delicious)! However, the food was served kinda slow (even most of the tables were empty)!!! One waitress was nice but some were kinda rude!!! I hope the management can pay attention to this issue! The price is okay / reasonable (neither cheap nor expensive)! The price for “mini” menu is better (only served before 6pm or after 9pm). Cash only for under $20 (but there is no sign for this!)港式茶餐廳 味道很好 服務一般!$20以下 只收現金
The food here is always spot on. From the baked pork cutlet fried rice to the lemon ice tea. It will always have the same quality taste. They have a very large menu with lots to try. Prices range on what you order bit a good meal can be had for a reasonable price here.
Love coming to this HK cafe. Been a long time patron. Been here for lunch more than dinner but both are good. Selection is great. Their hainanese chicken, bbq duck, and casserole dishes are really yummy. If you’re too lazy to cook or want a casual night out for Chinese, this is a good spot.
Food was good and I like the old traditional HK style cafe ambiance and decor. But they don’t justify the $19 price tag for fried noodle and baked rice. I like the food but I definitely don’t see the value.
Wonderful authentic 茶餐廳food right in Vancouver. Service was fast and food is served hot. The 鴛鴦is pretty well done too !
Nice foods and reasonable price. Comfortable environment too. Nice choices for Hong Kong style breakfast.
Love their baked rice dishes! The Portuguese Chicken is super good. The sole and spinach is good too. Today's half and half was alright. Try to go after 930, and it's much more reasonable price wise. Nice that it comes with a drink too.
I love the breakfast here. Very authentic and tasty. Staffs are friendly. The breakfast portions is big. After having the breakfast, you are full until afternoon 4pm...the milk tea here is amazing. Very traditional HK food places. The place is clean, service is fast. Definitely will keep going
I have been coming to this place for over a decade now. The food is consistently good, fresh, and delicious. It never really disappoints. The price point is a little higher compared to other Cantonese cafes however, the decor is soft and comforting, the food is presented in a nice matter and the servers are easy to flag down and quite helpful. I will continue to come here.
Good foods and great services. Don't miss the Black Glutinous Rice with Mango & Taro.
We have lots of Hong Kongness cafe in Los Angeles. When we traveled in Vancouver, we'll craving for Chinese food. That's why we came here.Everything was so good. We ordered three dishes, and we finished them all even though we were not that hungry.Every dish even came with a drink. We were so impressed. This one here in Vancouver is better than any HK cafe I've tried in LA.
Came here looking for some breakfast and was not disappointed! Wow the best seafood congee I’ve had in Vancouver. Super smooth with loads of sweet sweet seafood flavour. For breakfast, you can get a combo with some XO stir fried noodles which have awesome flavour including incredible wok flavour. The rest of their breakfast items are standard HK style cafe fare. My kids love their instant noodle breakfast soups. Good HK style milk tea also!Dinning area is large and can accommodate many large sized families. Our family of five was seated at a longer table and had ample amount of space. Definitely will be back to try their other items.
Very decent for what they are。。。♡
The food is good here (at least for breakfast) but what bothers me a lot is how stingy they are with sauces and condiments... We had two people in the table and asked for two fruit jam, they gave us ONE! It was not a mistake, because it's like that every single time. We have to always ask more sauce for everything here. It's a little bit tiring... If they were more generous with that, I would give them a better rating
Only the rice taste good and the noodle. nothing else worth to try.
Best go to place after ultimate frisbee! ;)
Good Hong Kong style food and big portion. Rib is okay. Suggest to stick with Hong Kong style food 👍
above average with good portion size
Straight average Hong Kong style diner. Everything you would expect to see on the menu and tastes just like it should. Definitely a good option if you're looking to socialize and in a casual atmosphere or grab a quick bite solo. Gave it 4 stars for the good service and the cleanliness of the restaurant. I usually order the baked seafood on rice but everything will be pleasant tasting
Get three takeouts during covid-19, pay $1.5 extra for chopsticks. Turns out no chopsticks, no spoon, no paper. Horrible
Food is still good. Service is still decent. The price goes up and the portion got smaller 😅
My go to for Hong Kong style cafés. The breakfast menu is my favorite. Great price point for the quality, variety and quantity of food.
Good food good price good service
Street parking. cc accepted. Consistent food quality. Friendly staff. Specialized in HK-style cafe food.
Hong Kong style cafe, at a decent price for average to above average fare. Will depend greatly on the personal taste ( do you like less oils or more salt..) but in general the food doesn't fall far from the genres mid-point. Staff is polite and customer turn over is quick, making it a place to nab quick bite. Parking is street or two small stalls in the back.
Ok hong kong style cafe. More or less standard pricing and service is ok. Came for breakfast
